Hackney RFC prides itself on being an inclusive club - open to all players of all ages and abilities. You don't need a trial to join us, just bring yourselves and a pair of trainers down to Hackney's rugby ground at Spring Hill on a Sunday morning from 10am. We train throughout the season (September through to May), every Sunday, with matches for various teams throughout.
If you are a new player and parent, we will require you to fill in a registration form. This is for both our records and for the RFU's main database. This will help us be aware of any requirements your child has, as well as keeping you updated with fixtures and any other club news. You can do this here.
Hackney Bulls is a registered charity and receives no formal funding. Our fundraising team works hard all year to obtain grants and awards to keep the club running but we do rely on your annual subscriptions.
So what's the deal here?
All new players get a six week free trial to decide whether or not they want to pursue the sport.
After the six week free trial, we charge £100 per year for each playing child (£70 for subsequent siblings).
We also give you the option of applying for a full or part bursary. Please click on the link to find out more.
The best way to pay us is online. Our details are:
Name: Hackney Bulls
Account No: 50389471
Sort Code: 20-44-91
Please make the reference the name of your child and the team. For example: CMurphyU10 or BDobbsU6. If cash or cheque is easier for you, please put this in an envelope with the child's name and team on the front of it and hand it in to the kitchen on Sunday morning.
Please read our FAQs below. If you have any further queries about joining the club, please contact our admin.
How do I register my child?
If you would like to register your child to play rugby, please come along to our Sunday training sessions to fill in a form (first session of 2017-2018 season will be Sunday 3rd September at Springhill Sports Ground - Find Us).
My child has never played rugby before. Can he/ she come along and try it out before we pay for the full year?
Absolutely. Newcomers are invited to attend a couple of training sessions before committing to membership.
What if I cannot afford to pay the full membership fee?
We have full and half bursaries on offer for anyone who is not in a position to pay the membership fee. You can apply for these by going to the
bursaries link. Please contact Mary Impey if you have further questions about these. If you also wish to pay in instalments, we are happy for you to do so - please let your coach know if you intend to do this.
Do I have to register my child if they're a returning member?
Yes. You will be able to do this at the first training sessions of the season where you can confirm your registration details are still accurate and pay your annual membership for the upcoming season.
Where do you play your matches?
We play and we train at Springhill Sports Ground.
